With bakery ownership a long standing family tradition, 66 Bakery owner Simon Morris can date his routes back to the 1900’s where his great grandfather came over from Prussia and started his own bakery business. The tradition ran though his family and Simon’s grandfather ran his own bakery shop in Cable Street, the East End of London from the 1920’s.
Then Simon’s father started his own bakery business in 1952 based in St. John’s Wood and with his wife they expanded the business during the 1960’s and 70’s to 15 shops.
In the late 1970’s and early 80’s there was a new type of competition in the way of in-store bakeries and Supermarkets and as a young boy Simon saw how his parents adapted and began to offer premium and bespoke products to keep them at the top of their game.
From an early age Simon began to work in the shops during weekends and school holidays and after completing his education he entered into the business full time at seventeen. During the 1980’s Simon’s parents retired and this is where he formed his own shop based in Ruislip Manor called Sixty Six Store. With a new premises and an expansion plan he extended his kitchen further to cope with a growing wholesale demand.
Since the 1980’s Simon has been producing high quality bakery products for store and wholesale customers and will continue to provide first class service and products for many years to come.
